Your Beauty

  • When I speak of your beauty,
  • I speak not of that which time,
  • Like some unwelcomed guest
  • Arrives to steal away.

  • I speak of that
  • Which cannot be measured,
  • Or weighed,
  • By human hands.

  • I speak of your warmth
  • Like that of welcomed sunshine
  • On a frosty, winter morning.
  • I speak of your fragrance

  • Like the smell of cool, crisp air
  • After a short, April shower.
  • I speak of your taste,
  • Like that of ice-cold lemonade,

  • On a hot, steamy night.
  • I speak of your color,
  • Like that of the first blue bonnet
  • Swimming in a sea of green.

  • But in the end
  • I realize that no one word,
  • Or sentence can fully capture
  • The essence of who you are.

  • For to fully appreciate you,
  • One must experience you,
  • Like the vinter tasting
  • The first glass of new wine.

Love's Afterglow

  • I love to see you sensually draped,
  • In the after glow of love’s refrain.

  • The tresses of your brown hair,
  • Disheveled by uncontrolled desires,

  • Luscious lips that once wore red
  • Now lie pale, naked and silent,

  • The gentle breathing of your tanned body
  • Glistening with drops of love’s passion,

  • Your bruised breasts seeking repose
  • From amorous lips that worshiped there,

  • And your sea-green eyes now bowed
  • In prayer and contemplation,

  • But on your beautiful, angelic face
  • Sits a sweet smile of contentment.

Love's Sorrow

  • On long, loveless winter nights,
  • While lover's arms seek warm embrace,
  • I lie in bed alone,
  • My heart crying
  • In silent torment,
  • Aching for the sweet fragrance
  • Of your welcoming bosom.

I Thought of You

  • I thought of you today,
  • as I heard the whisper of the wind
  • in the rustling of autumn leaves,
  • swirling, dancing and painting

  • the earth in carpets of red and gold.
  • I thought of you today,
  • as I saw the slow, moving V of geese
  • noisily announcing their journey south,

  • dragging winter behind them.
  • I thought of you today,
  • as I felt the tears of gray skies,
  • and the cold wind steal

  • the last trace of Indian-summer breath.
  • I thought of you today;
  • the promise of spring to come,
  • and I smiled.

Under June's Unclouded Sky

  • The delicious warmth
  • Of your breath
  • Has filled the summer flowers
  • With moonlight dew wet.

  • And I,
  • Full of love's content,
  • Under June's unclouded sky
  • Drink in the liquid-silver drops
  • Of your love.

Desire

  • My fingers
  • Accidentally touched your hand
  • And at that instant
  • A charge of current
  • Bolted up my arm,
  • To my sleepy heart.

  • Breaking the rhythm of my heartbeat
  • It palpitated out of control.
  • I gasped for air.
  • My vision blurred.
  • My mind went dizzy
  • And fear buckled my knees.

  • Ever since that haunting day
  • I look
  • For another opportunity
  • To touch you again!
  • And again,
  • And again.
